RTI ON Industrial Pollution

Subject: Severe Air Pollution due to Chemical Industries to the Residents of Addagutta/HMT Colonies (Kukatpally), Shapurnagar, Jeedimetla, Hyderabad – Information required under Section 6 of the Right to Information Act, 2005.
Sir,
During morning hours and evening of every day since 08.10.2012 to till date (as observed by the applicant), severe acidic pollution is observed in Addagutta/HMT Colonies (Kukatpally) areas. Similar pollution was observed in the recent past Shapurnagar, Jeedimetla areas. Thus the citizens cannot open their doors, windows of their residences to get fresh air as it is the best and only time available for fresh in a metro city. No one can even sit in their balconies for fresh air even in the residences located far away from main roads. The industries have curbed the right of the citizens to breathe fresh air even during the periods which are treated as fresh air times. Thus no morning walk could be made for keeping fitness which is an indirect health hazard. This phenomenon was being seen very frequently nowadays in Addagutta and regularly in Shapurnagar, Jeedimetla areas.
We are facing very difficult in staying in this area due to some selfish and irresponsible industries.
Therefore, I seek the following information under the RTI Act, 2005 from your organisation:
1. What are the statues prescribed to curb air pollution by the industries in residential areas.
2. What is the norm for various industrial pollutants in the residential areas.
3. How many industries in this area (area wise & industry wise) are crossing the norm.
4. Who are the officers responsible to inspect, stop such polluting industries.
a. By designation
b. By name as on date
5. Who are the officers responsible to supervise or oversee the subordinate officers in the job stated above.
6. What is the norm of the inspection and how many inspections are being made.
7. Is there any inspection done in the above areas.
a. What action has been taken.
8. Are there any automatic monitoring devices installed.
a. If Yes, where and what is the result of them.
b. If No, is it not mandatory to install such devices under any provision of law (respective law may be specified).
c. Is there any provision in the law to stop such erring industries instantly without issuing a notice?
i. If yes the respective provision of the statute.
ii. How many such erring industries have been stopped?
iii. How many such erring industries which have been stopped are still working?
Yours faithfully,
